You will learn everything you need to know about the fundamentals of ice and mixed climbing. You will have access to a variety of tool types and learn techniques to use them. This clinic is specifically intended for the queer community.
You'll go outside with photographer Nikki Smith (www.pullphotography.com) to begin to learn how to see the world differently. What makes a great photo? What types of angles and vantage points lead to that coveted shot? From camera phones to DSLR's, she will teach the basics of composition, tips, and tricks to strengthen and improve your photos and how to make your friends look like heroes.
The International Expedition Planning Seminar consists of two short presentations by Ari Novak and Graham Williams followed by a critique of the attendee's expedition planning documents.
This clinic will cover: the basic knots used in rescue situations, pulley systems, rappelling with a partner, a short discussion of med kits on route, and a discussion of a number of real-world scenarios.
In this clinic we will go over all of the basics including putting on a harness, tying into a rope, climbing commands and proper belay technique. Finally, we will cover considerations needed for people with larger bodies as well address the common concerns, fears and misconceptions about who can be a rock climber.
